In response, White House Deputy Press Secretary Kush Desai issued a statement directly addressing Grande's remarks. This statement cleverly incorporated titles from Grande's own songs, such as "Save Your Tears," "Just Like Magic," and "Get Well Soon." Desai remarked, "Save your tears, Ariana. Because President Trump’s actions ended Joe Biden’s inflation crisis and are bringing in trillions in new investment." He continued, "He even signed an executive order just like magic that paved the way for the FTC to crack down on Ticketmaster for ripping off Ariana Grande’s concert-going fans. Desai's comments referenced a recent lawsuit filed by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) against Live Nation and Ticketmaster, alleging that these companies misled consumers regarding ticket resale prices. This legal action came just a month after the FTC targeted a ticket resale company, Key Investment Group, along with its affiliates, for employing illegal tactics to acquire tickets and resell them at inflated prices for highly sought-after events, including Taylor Swift’s "Eras" tour.
It’s worth noting that Ariana Grande has been an outspoken supporter of Democratic nominee Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential election.
